Specialized academic councils evaluate such research very rigorously. The work must meet the following key criteria:

• Significant scientific contribution. The research must address a truly important problem. The solution should provide tangible benefits – economic, social, or technological.
• Field-level novelty. The results must be entirely original. It is not sufficient to slightly improve existing theories; it is necessary to develop a new paradigm or a unique methodology.
• Depth and scope of research. The problem must be analyzed comprehensively. It is necessary to cover related areas and rely on a substantial body of verified data.
• Validity of results. All conclusions must be clearly substantiated. This involves the use of modern research methods, advanced mathematical modeling, and large-scale experiments.
• Theoretical or applied results. The work must include both profound theoretical insights and practical recommendations that can be implemented.

The logic of presentation must be precise and consistent. Each section develops the problem more deeply than the previous one; therefore, the structure of the research follows strict principles.

The work typically begins with an introduction. Here, the author explains the relevance of the topic, defines the aim and objectives, as well as the object and subject of the research. The introduction also provides a detailed description of the scientific novelty and practical significance of the results obtained.

This is followed by the main body. It is the most extensive part and usually consists of several major chapters – most often from four to seven. The first chapter is typically devoted to the literature review and the selection of methodology. In subsequent chapters, the author presents their own research, describes the experimental basis, and develops new models and concepts. The emphasis is always on the depth of analysis.

After the main text, conclusions are presented. This is a comprehensive synthesis of the entire study. It provides clear answers to the objectives outlined in the introduction and summarizes the results of the researcher’s long-term work.

The work concludes with a list of references and appendices. The reference list includes all sources used in the research. The appendices contain materials that would overload the main text, such as extensive tables, specialized graphs, program code, or scans of documents.

The form of presentation must strictly comply with national and academic standards. The main formatting requirements are as follows:

• Increased length of the work. A doctoral dissertation is significantly longer than a Doctor of Philosophy dissertation. It usually consists of 300–400 pages of the main text, depending on the specifics of the discipline.
• Academic style of writing. The text is written in a formal scientific style. Emotions, metaphors, and journalistic expressions are strictly inappropriate.
• High requirements for sources. The research is based on monographs, patents, and peer-reviewed articles in journals indexed in international databases such as Scopus or Web of Science. Unreliable sources must not be used.
• Citation and referencing rules. Every borrowed idea or figure must be accompanied by a proper reference to the original source in accordance with current standards.
• Originality requirements. The text undergoes a rigorous multi-level plagiarism check – the level of originality must be exemplary.
• Basic principles of reference list formatting. All sources must be systematized according to current standards, such as DSTU or the international APA style.
